Globe Teleservices (GTS) has announced the signing of an exclusive three-year contract to implement its advanced A2P SMS firewall solutions for CelcomDigi. This collaboration is poised to enhance security for mobile messaging services in Malaysia by providing robust protection against various forms of malicious content.
Under the agreement, GTS’ SMS firewall will deliver real-time threat detection and filtering capabilities, effectively blocking harmful content such as phishing attacks, spam, and SMS fraud before these messages reach CelcomDigi’s users. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced plans to initiate its 5G rollout in the upcoming months as part of a broader strategy to enhance its network capabilities.
Currently, the company is focused on expanding its 4G infrastructure, with an ambitious goal of deploying 100,000 sites by June 2025. As of now, BSNL has activated over 75,000 sites, with more than 80,000 installations in place. The operator is confident that it will meet its target and have all 100,000 sites fully operational by the specified deadline.

A recent study by Juniper Research, a prominent authority in telecommunication markets, projects that global revenue from private cellular networks will reach US$12.2 billion by 2028, marking a substantial rise from the US$5.7 billion recorded in 2025. This represents a remarkable growth rate of 114%, indicating a notable shift as businesses increasingly invest in private network solutions.
The study also anticipates the rollout of nearly 3,000 new private networks over the next two years, a significant increase compared to the 2,500 deployments observed in the previous four-year period. A key factor driving this growth is the introduction of Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) business models, which offer enterprises reduced costs and enhanced scalability.
