This deployment is part of Vietnam’s broader digital transformation ambitions, as the country strives for the digital economy to account for 30% of its GDP by 2030. Achieving this goal will require significant investments in telecommunications infrastructure, including extensive broadband networks to support rapid industrialization and economic growth.
Nguyen Tran Quynh, Deputy Director of Viettel’s Technical Global Centre, expressed enthusiasm about the project, emphasizing that it reflects Viettel’s commitment to elevating network performance and delivering a superior experience to subscribers. He also highlighted the solution’s role in improving energy efficiency and strengthening network reliability and availability.
Kent Wong, Vice President and Head of IP Networks for Nokia Asia Pacific, stated that this project marks a milestone for Nokia, as it represents the first deployment of BNG-CUPS technology in Vietnam. The collaboration aims to set a new standard for broadband services in the region, supporting Vietnam’s ongoing digital economy development.
