The collaboration was recently unveiled, emphasising the aim to strengthen data sovereignty, operational interoperability, cyber resilience, and reduce reliance on foreign technology during crises.
Through this partnership, TCS will provide services to support NOW Telecom’s initiatives in establishing a sovereign cloud infrastructure that ensures local control over data and AI development. The new infrastructure will prioritise operational continuity and local capacity-building, aligning with the Philippines’ Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)’s clean network principles. The deployment of TCS’s Sovereign Secure Cloud solution will facilitate the development of a resilient cloud environment capable of supporting critical government and enterprise functions.
In addition, TCS will assist NOW Telecom in implementing advanced security protocols by deploying its Cyber Defense Suite. This suite offers cyber intelligence, resilience measures, vendor risk management, and identity security, aimed at safeguarding vital infrastructure from evolving cyber threats.
The partnership also aims to co-create citizen-focused digital services, including digital private infrastructure, healthcare solutions, and digital banking platforms, leveraging the new resilient digital ecosystem.
Mel Velarde, Chairman of NOW Group, described the partnership as a significant milestone in advancing the Philippines’ digital sovereignty: “this collaboration with TCS marks a major step towards reducing reliance on foreign technologies and enhancing our national digital resilience. With TCS’s expertise and our shared commitment, we will build a secure, scalable, and robust data infrastructure that protects our nation’s data assets and supports innovative citizen-centric services.”
