Globe Teleservices (GTS) has announced the signing of an exclusive three-year contract to implement its advanced A2P SMS firewall solutions for CelcomDigi. This collaboration is poised to enhance security for mobile messaging services in Malaysia by providing robust protection against various forms of malicious content.

Under the agreement, GTS’ SMS firewall will deliver real-time threat detection and filtering capabilities, effectively blocking harmful content such as phishing attacks, spam, and SMS fraud before these messages reach CelcomDigi’s users. The implementation of this solution is essential for safeguarding messaging pathways and preventing unauthorized traffic, ensuring that customers receive only trusted and verified communications from legitimate businesses.

"This collaboration will drive the future of A2P messaging in Malaysia, protecting mobile users from fraudulent messages and scams while ensuring a seamless, high-quality messaging experience,” said Ashutosh Agrawal, Group CEO of Globe Teleservices.

The global A2P (Application-to-Person) messaging market has experienced substantial growth, reaching an estimated US$72.2 billion in 2024, with the Asia Pacific region accounting for over 44.5% of this total. According to a report from research and consulting firm IMARC, the A2P market is projected to exceed US$98 billion by 2033, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.54% beginning in 2025.

The partnership between GTS and CelcomDigi marks a significant advancement in the security of mobile messaging in Malaysia. By leveraging GTS’ A2P SMS firewall technology, CelcomDigi aims to enhance user trust and safety in mobile communications. As the A2P messaging market continues to expand, such collaborations are critical for addressing the challenges posed by SMS fraud and further solidifying the role of mobile messaging as a vital communication tool for businesses and consumers alike.
