Maxis has selected Nokia to upgrade its data centre infrastructure in support of its future growth plans.

Nokia said that the modernisation project would simplify Maxis’ network operations, enable faster issue resolution, and automate workloads, all within a robust and secure infrastructure. Nokia will deploy its latest routers and switches across multiple Maxis data centres.

“This expansion of our longstanding collaboration with Nokia will drive next-generation connectivity in anticipation of customers’ growing needs. It reflects Malaysia’s emergence as a hub for data centres and hyperscalers, in line with the greater adoption of AI-enabled cloud infrastructure. This initiative will enhance our network capabilities, ensuring we continue to provide best-in-class, connectivity-adjacent solutions powered by fast, secure, and reliable connectivity,” said Maxis CEO Goh Seow Eng.

“Data centre networks are critical infrastructure and must be extremely reliable while also being simple to deploy and operate. We are pleased to work with Maxis to modernise their data centre infrastructure with our advanced data centre switches and EDA technology, providing a future-proof architecture that is scalable, resilient, and easy to deploy,” said added Nokia’s Head of Southeast Asia South for Network Infrastructure, Ming Kin Ngiam. “This collaboration is a testament to the strength of our technology and our commitment to supporting our customer’s growth in the booming data centre market in Southeast Asia.”
