06 September 2024

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched its indigenous 4G network at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) in Andhra Pradesh Circle.

This deployment marks a milestone in BSNL's 4G rollout, delivering high-speed mobile connectivity to a critical industrial area in Andhra Pradesh (AP), India.

The rollout is expected to substantially improve communication and operational efficiency within one of the country's largest steel production facilities. The new network infrastructure will also facilitate seamless data transfer, enhance real-time communication, and support advanced industrial applications, thereby bolstering productivity and safety at the plant.

"BSNL AP inaugurated Swadeshi 4G services at the steel plant site in Visakhapatnam, AP Circle," said BSNL Andhra Pradesh.

The equipment stack was manufactured under a consortium that developed the technology indigenously, including Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the state-run telecom research organisation C-DoT, and Tejas Networks.
