Globe Telecom has established an AI unit and appointed a chief AI officer in a move to enhance its operations by tapping into the technology.
The new unit was named the AI Development and Enablement Group (AIDE) with the purpose of enhancing Globe’s business operations, service delivery and customer experience. AIDE will start formally as a group on June 1. It will be led by Globe’s chief information security officer Anton Bonifacio who will simultaneously take the reins as chief AI officer (CAIO).
"The creation of AIDE signifies a strategic investment in our technological capabilities and a concerted effort to integrate AI seamlessly into our operations,” said Bonifacio.
Globe Telecom president and CEO Ernest Cu said the move aligns with its strategy to “sustain competitive advantage.”
“The emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) signals a pivotal shift, promising to revolutionize the way we do business and serve our customers. We’ve begun to see AI’s impact by way of the different teams across Globe having ongoing initiatives to take advantage of its benefits, but it is imperative that we move forward with unified intent and renewed vigour to navigate these new technological frontiers swiftly,” said Cu.
