Fifty barangays are to benefit from the WiFi in halls, gyms, and other high foot traffic areas.
Provided by PLDT Enterprise in conjunction with the local government unit, it works alongside a cloud managed access point, which allows the monitoring of real time alerts in case of any connectivity issues.
PLDT Enterprise has had a long running partnership with Cebu City, in which time they have enabled a digital transformation and helped welcome digital lifestyles into residents’ lives, and have also revolutionized other sectors, such as business, education, banking and agriculture.
This is just one example of the upgrading of several cities to help them achieve digital transformation by companies such as PLDT and Smart, who aim to use integrated and fixed wireless networks to improve areas. These initiatives also align with goals set by the government mandated Private Sector Advisory Council’s (PSAC) Digital Infrastructure Pillar, particularly the accelerated development and implementation of internet infrastructure. They also help reduce digital divides and promote digital literacy alongside sustainable digital ecosystems.
