ZTE announces first commercial launch of high-power 8T8R UBR and digital intelligent antenna solution

China Mobile Pakistan (CMPak), operating under the brand Zong 4G, has become the first operator to commercially deploy ZPE’s advanced 8T8R ultra-broadband radio (UBR) and digital intelligent antenna (DIA) solution. This marks a significant milestone in enhancing network performance and deployment efficiency in Pakistan.

According to ZTE, the UBR solution provides 8x120W of power across the 1800-MHz and 2100-MHz bands within a single integrated remote radio unit (RRU), replacing multiple legacy RRUs typically used in traditional setups. This integration can save Zong up to 67% of RRUs per tower, significantly reducing deployment complexity, antenna space requirements, and overall equipment footprint.

TCS and NOW Telecom to develop sovereign data cloud

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a strategic partnership with Philippine telecommunications provider NOW Telecom to co-design, develop, and deploy a scalable and secure digital infrastructure, including a sovereign data cloud tailored for both public and private sector use.

The collaboration was unveiled on Monday, emphasising the aim to strengthen data sovereignty, operational interoperability, cyber resilience, and reduce reliance on foreign technology during crises.

Eutelsat and Nelco to bring LEO satellite connectivity to India

Eutelsat has announced a new partnership with Tata Group’s satellite communications provider Nelco Limited to provide Eutelsat OneWeb’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity services across India.

Under this agreement, OneWeb India Communications, Eutelsat’s local operating entity, will collaborate with Nelco to deliver high-speed, reliable satellite connectivity tailored for land, maritime, and aviation sectors, supporting critical government and enterprise applications.
