DITO Telecommunity and InfiniVAN form strategic fibre-sharing partnership

10 November 2025

In a move aimed at strengthening the Philippines’ digital infrastructure, DITO Telecommunity and InfiniVAN announced on Friday that they have signed a reciprocal fibre-sharing agreement designed to enhance network resilience, operational coverage, and digital capacity across the country.

Under the terms of a master facilities provisioning agreement (MFPA), both companies will grant each other access to their respective fibre-optic facilities, which include subsea cable systems as well as terrestrial underground and aerial dark fibre.

This collaboration allows both firms to utilise existing infrastructure more efficiently, expanding redundancy and resilience while ensuring greater service continuity nationwide. The MFPA specifics ownership rights, access parameters, maintenance responsibilities, and procedures for service restoration, with each party managing individual facilities under separate agreements.

Ernesto R. Alberto, president and CEO of DITO Telecommunity, expressed that the partnership embodies a shared vision of building a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready digital Philippines. He highlighted that the fibre-swap arrangement not only optimises existing assets but also reinforces the backbone of Philippine connectivity, ensuring reliability, expanded reach, and sustainability.

Similarly, Shigeki Nakahara, president of InfiniVAN, emphasised that by sharing resources and strengths, the partnership will lead to broader coverage, increased network stability, and a more solid foundation for the country’s ongoing digital transformation. This strategic fibre-sharing initiative marks a significant step towards creating a more robust and interconnected digital infrastructure in the Philippines.
