SatCom Industry Association (SIA-India) signed a memorandum of understanding with Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI), for cooperation in development of standards in the country and international development organisations (SDOs), including the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and The 3rd generation Partnership Project (3GPP).

The body said this would help address common interests, stimulate and assist future cooperation of their member of organisations.

The SIA-India said the aim it to cultivate cooperation and support for the standardisation toward an efficient and sustainable industry.

“The collaboration will go a long way in strengthening the standards-based manufacturing expertise in the country,” said Subba Rao Pavuluri, president, SIA-India. “We hope Indian standards will soon be recognised globally.”
